The Embroider Riches vintage and antique collection holds 300 to 500 pieces sourced from private Greek estates over two decades. The collection includes Greek vintage folk textiles with strong regional character, 100 to 150 rare Greek antique pieces selected and described individually, and 50 to 100 Ottoman-era pieces from Greece, the Balkans, and Turkey dating from the 1800s onwards. Ottoman pieces include gold and silver metal-thread embroidery, velvet works, and costume fragments. Every piece is acquired through one-to-one relationships, never from bulk markets.
Our vintage and antique collection has been built gradually over the past twenty years. Each piece is sourced individually through private channels: families who inherit textile heirlooms and seek a trusted buyer, individuals we have built relationships with over time, and quiet, one-to-one acquisitions across Greece and the broader region. Nothing comes from bulk markets or mass lots. Every item is selected on its own merit.
The collection reflects the textile heritage of the Eastern Mediterranean and its crossroads: Greek folk embroideries with strong regional character, Ottoman and Anatolian metalwork with gold and silver thread, Balkan needlework traditions, whitework and heirloom linens, traditional woven wall hangings, kilims, and rugs made on hand looms, and fine pieces that have passed through generations of careful hands.
A significant part of our collection centers on vintage Greek folk embroideries. These are pieces with regional identity, made in specific communities using techniques and patterns passed down locally. The colors, motifs, and stitching methods tell you where a piece comes from and what it meant to the people who made it.
We know these traditions well: their history, their geography, and their significance. That knowledge comes with every piece we offer.
Alongside folk textiles, we curate a smaller selection of rare and exceptional antiques. These span from the 1800s to the early 1900s and represent some of the finest needlework of the Eastern Mediterranean: metal-thread embroidery with gold and silver, naturally dyed threads on handmade fabrics, satin stitch, chain stitch, counted-thread work, and techniques that have largely disappeared from practice.
These pieces carry the marks of age and use, which is part of their authenticity and value. They are not reproductions. They are the real thing.
Our vintage and antique pieces find homes with a wide range of buyers. Pricing reflects the nature of the collection: accessible vintage textiles from a few hundred euros to significantly more for rare antiques, depending on age, condition, technique, and rarity. Many pieces are refurbished before listing, from professional cleaning to full reframing, depending on what each piece needs.
A tangible connection to heritage and homeland. Pieces that carry the traditions, patterns, and identity of specific Greek regions.
